Importance of Technology in Health Care Organizations

As of current, there has been a bone of contention among the senior members of the daughter companies of Vitruvian Inc. —Vitruvian Physician Partners and Vitruvian Health on the issue regarding the impending successorship of the corporation’s chair and the implications of such succession on the three organizations.

The current chair of the parent organization, Dr. Joseph Montenegro, has renounced his claims for presidency and has announced that he will bestow his seat to Dr. Vincent Durro.

Unfortunately the successorship was not met with kind appreciation on the three parties most especially that of the members of the Vitruvian Physicians Partnerships and some of the reasons forwarded on the ‘disadvantages’ of the transfer of power are the following: striated colleague relations, general disagreement over the successor’s applied philosophies in life which capitalizes on emotional disentanglements and his techie addictiveness.

The perception of most colleagues regarding Dr. Vincent Durro is ‘personal’ and is unsuited for the main objective of the medical organization. Terms such as ‘cold and ‘techie addict’ has no place in the judging the leadership abilities and qualifications of Dr. Vincent Durro as an apt successor of the chair head of the organization.

Additionally, Dr. Durro’s potential, his restructuring proposals and technology infusion can benefit the organization in terms of competitive advantage in the economic and the medical market.

Dr. Durro’s methodology of bringing VPP and VH into the 21st century is by conducting a major overhaul of the companies’ computer systems and infrastructure. Such provisos on technology implicate convenience for the health care system of VPP and coping up with the current trends in globalization (One of which is technology.)

Technology’s positive impact on health care systems is a well-documented subject and accordingly, parlays convenience for both parties—the medical health care providers and the medical recipients.

Technology can also improved the success rate of medical practice and the reduction of medical errors that of which may also imply positively on the practitioner since there may be lesser grounds for malpractice claims. Recipients of medical care also include improved medical technology as one of their major criterion for health care system satisfaction.

This is unsurprising considering that most amenities of care, which is considered efficient, are generally related to their technological performance.

Structure in an organization and the integration of functions of two daughter companies who has similar objectives may also have positive impact for the organization. Dr. Durros must have realized that coordinates between VPP and VH can eradicate the companies’ problems on operational infrastructure.

His primary objectives are to coordinate and integrate the medical necessity review process of VPP with that of the health plans medical coverage reviews, finance operations of both organizations, electronic medical records and claims adjudication requiring operative notes review, and overall patient appointment scheduling and claims processing.

Health care quality and smooth business flow can be the primary end results of these proposals. Health care planning through reviews from VPP and VH can be estimated at the marginal region where it can be affordable, insurance-covered for the medic recipients and profitable for the medical organization.

Delivery of health care systems and organization of patients records is made more efficient and fast through electronic medical records.

Herein, I posit that Dr. Vincent Durro’s proposed methodologies can give a competitive advantage to the Vitruvian Inc., and that his wits make him the most plausible candidate for chair head of the board.
Thank you very much.
