Agricultural Adjustment Act
-Helped farmers meet mortgages
-Unconstitutional b/c gov was paying farmers to waste 1/3 of there products

Bonus Army
-WWI vets. that marched to D.C. in 1932 to demand immediate payment of their gov war bonuses in cash

Congress of Industrial Organizations
-Federation of labor union for all unskilled workers
-Provided national labor union for unskilled workers, unlike the AFL, which limited itself to skilled workers

Emergency Banking Act
-Gov legislation passed during depression that dealt with the bank problem
-Allowed plan which would close down insolvent banks and reorganize and reopen those banks strong enough to survive

Farm Credit Act
-Est to help farmers refinance mortgages on their land over a long term at interest rates which were lower than the regional banks

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
-Created by Glass-Steagall Act of 1933
-Provided deposit insurance, which guaranteed the safety of deposits in member banks, currently up to $250,000 per depositor per bank

Federal Emergency Relief Act
-1st direct-relief operation under the New Deal
-Headed by Harry L. Hopkins
-Law provided money for food and other necessities for the unemployed

Glass-Steagall Banking Act
-Created Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation

National Housing Act
-Created Federal Housing Administration, Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation
-Designed to stop the tide of bank foreclosures on family homes
-Instead gave loans

National Industrial Act

Social Security Act
-Guaranteed retirement payments for enrolled workers beginning at age 65
-Set up federal-state system of unemployment insurance and care for dependent mothers and children, the handicapped, and public health

-Creates an Authority to oversee construction of dams to control flooding, improve navigation, and bring electricity to the rural south
